Jordan Playfair

Two facts about Jordan Playfair: 1) he has the coolest genuine name ever; 2) he is a talented bastard. These demos may not be produced to Huey Lewis & The News standards but, my word, they are impressive. Playfair’s most striking quality is his vocal which sometimes sounds like a tender Eddie Vedder and at others carries all of the weight of Odetta in 1963. The fact that he has already learned to craft his songs around it so effortlessly shows demonstrative maturity. Black On Me, for instance, while hissily produced, offers such emotive depth and wisdom in both music and lyric it could have been written by King Solomon. A potentially remarkable find. SMR

Hi there. Wonder if you can help me. Is it possible to download Jordan's tracks?
      Any help much appreciated.

        Hi Glenn,

Personally, I can't help. Jordan was a bit of an enigma, one of those old-fashioned anomalies rarely found in modern musical society. There appears to be no myspace, no soundcloud, no bandcamp and no website for him. It's almost like he doesn't exist. Amazing really – he could be the next great soul superstar but the only thing you can find relating to him is a Facebook page with 1 friend on it.

Where are you Jordan? Where have you gone?

To the contrary! http://www.myspace.com/oscarfabinou This belongs to him – Oscar Fabinou and Kaya Kaplan both appear to be names he went by at some point.

Also, as far as I know he disappeared many months ago. Last I heard of him he was at a motel in London. Around February.

Sheesh! What a thorough and impressive investigation Triptych. I picture you now as a private eye, hunting down errant musicians…

Glad to know Jordan is, um, ok…at least as of February…there's something sinister about the phrase 'a motel in London' though…

Haha. Nah, I had some additional information to start with. :P I haven't found anything relevant to his situation since February, though…

He has a sister, also in London. Apparently he was going to switch between squatting and staying at her flat. It'd be interesting to find out how he is now, though…

I have a few tracks of his that he sent me. I don't think he'd mind me sending them to someone… Shall I upload them to mediafire or something?
