This new demo starts out with a kind of Billy Bragg, punk-folk feel, dedicated to “All of the chavs and the ravers”. There’s more than a hint of the Levellers’ Mark Chadwick in its populist cry, but although Inconsiderate Parking become folkier as things proceed – bringing the ukulele and melodica to the front of the mix – it’s the spirit of skiffle that really pervades all three tracks. It should all go down very nicely in the pubs and clubs, but the recorded sound currently feels a little too minimal: this may be against the spirit of the thing, but some level of percussion wouldn’t go amiss.
