Van Morrison has been announced as the Saturday headliner for this year’s Green Man Festival.
The legendary Northern Irish singer-songwriter will join fellow headliners Feist to help celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Brecon music festival by playing the Mountain Stage. Other acts set to be performing this year include Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks, Tune-Yards, Of Montreal and Sweet Baboo.
“He’s been near the top of our ‘most wanted’ list since the very early days of Green Man so w’re totally chuffed to have him headline out 10th anniversary,” said festival organisers.
‘Van the Man’ began his career in the mid 1960s as part of five-piece Them, though went on to become a solo success with worldwide smash hits such as Brown-Eyed Girl and groundbreaking album Astral Weeks paving his way to stardom.
Last month, the organisers said how this year’s festival – which takes place between Friday 17 August and Sunday 19 August – was set to be the “most exciting and eclectic yet.”
Also announced to be joining this year’s bill include Daughter, Bowerbirds, Beth Jeans Houghton and Megafaun.
Tickets are available now.
